This command-level course is aimed at the experienced programmer who wants to learn everything about CICS programming from writing efficient programs to debugging errors. It will develop the programmer's understanding of the relationships between CICS and the operating system and between CICS management modules and application programs. We will start by writing simple CICS programs; we then focus on programming techniques and debugging. At the end, the programmer will have written a menu transaction, a paging transaction, performed online printing, accessed system information and learned how to use some of CICS-supplied tools.
